Dr. Vogel earned a Master’s (1998) and Transitional Doctorate degree (2008) in Physical Therapy both from Western University of Health Sciences. After receiving her Master’s degree, she worked as a staff physical therapist in the Acute and ICU settings at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, 加州. Her primary case load included treating patients with primarily Cardiovascular and Pulmonary pathologies. With the growth of interdisciplinary collaboration, she had a primary role on peer reviewed research, quality improvement and protocol development. Topics included documenting functional outcomes after Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts, Lung Volume Reduction Surgery, and after implantation of Biventricular Assist Devices.  Her passion for the cardiopulmonary system resulted in becoming a Cardiopulmonary Clinical Specialist from 2005-2015. After obtaining this certification, Dr. Vogel began to pursue her interest in teaching. This led to an adjunct teaching position in 2006, at Western University of Health Sciences and Mount Saint Mary’s University, where she taught the cardiopulmonary curriculum. Continued interest in exercise also led to an opportunity to assist in the lab for Physiology of Exercise. In 2010, she became an Adjunct faculty member at 澳门威尼斯人app下载大学 too. She was invited to guest lecture in Medical Screening, Exercise Science and General Medicine/Pathophysiology. This too led to positions as the primary instructor. 作为兼职教员, she served as a student advisor for a systematic review on Physical Therapy and Mechanical Ventilation. Her teaching experience includes courses in both the traditional or in person setting as well as the online format of the transitional DPT program. While pursuing interests in technology and learning, Dr Vogel was a committee member for Best Practices Engaging 学生 in Online Learning and was a Content provider and Evaluator of student performance using a Simulator Case. 2016年春天, she also taught Cardiopulmonary Practice Management at 加州 State University, 北岭. She transitioned from adjunct faculty to core faculty as an Assistant Clinical Professor in August 2016 here at 澳门威尼斯人app下载大学.  Dr. Vogel’s current scholarly interests include understanding how Physical Therapy 学生 attain the skill of taking Blood Pressure and the influence of posture on ventilatory breathing mechanics and volume changes by compartment. These experiences have allowed her to share her knowledge of how the cardiopulmonary system functions at rest, 和锻炼, throughout the life span, and in the presence of a variety of pathologies.
